Our instructor, Arjun, was very knowledgeable, patient and thorough. He gave every student attention and guidance to help us each craft a nice piece of woodwork. I was very happy with my side table and would love to take more classes at his studio.

Arjun seems like a nice guy you would want to grab a beer with, but he was not prepared for the class at all. He was very disorganized and the class was not well structured. For example, we had to cut out joints from various sizes of wood and instead of doing all long pieces at once and then all short pieces at once, limiting the amount of time he had to reset the saw, he went group by group. This meant he constantly had to reset the saw and it took longer than necessary to get that piece of the project done. Also, he forgot some steps and students that had glued their pieces together had to unglue them to complete the missing steps. This all could have been avoided if some minimal planning had gone on before class.
There was no prototype of the final project to give his students a visual, instead he talked for an hour about wood. Moreover, he mentioned he was tired because his young child kept him up the night before. He did look really tired. While I have lots of sympathy for that since I have three kids, it was unprofessional to say. And if you are that tired that you can’t plan out the class, then maybe you should have canceled and refunded us back the money. He knows his stuff and I hope he takes some of these suggestions to heart because he can create a wonderful woodworking class in the future.
The final project was beautiful and this class can be outstanding with some forethought and lesson planning.

The class is poorly organized, nothing had been prepared in advance. A lot of time was being wasted by the instructor setting up equipment, looking for drills, failing to find charges for drills etc. Meanwhile the students just stand there... We also had to make a trip to Lowe’s because the lumber for our project hadn’t been purchased beforehand.
As a result, the class took over 4 hours instead of promised 3.
In addition, you can only apply your newly learned skills if you have access to the heavy-duty fancy equipment pros use. I still have no idea how to make a stool if I only have a regular saw, a drill and a hammer.
So, the workshop is ok if you just want to get a general idea of how things are done, but it’s not very valuable from a practical perspective and also unnecessarily long.

It was great. Kevin was obviously very knowledgable. And he is a great teacher. He took the time to answer questions and demonstrate and still kept on point with the project. I especially appreciated that he treated us with kindness and was very approachable. Woodworking, especially power tools can be intimidating and he really made me feel safe an supported. He is an empowering teacher which is the best kind there is!
Thanks for a great class. I'd love to take another one soon.

It was an ok class. Everyone's stool came out pretty good. Got a chance to use some tools i had never used before. The guy teaching the class gave us a few reasons to raise our eyebrows though- he smelled of alcohol and admitted to having slept only a few hours and some of the information he gave us re: wood cuts was incorrect

This class was great and the stool is very useful in my kitchen. Our instructor was really helpful every step of the way. He's very passionate about woodworking and listening to some of his stories made the experience that much better. Our class went a little late because of the amount of people, so I wouldn't make plans directly afterwards. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in learning a new skill.

Very informative very friendly and I learned a lot of information thanks

The class content was great and the instructor was informative and friendly. The class did go way over schedule by 90 minutes. It didn't bother me as I had no pressing plans after the course but be advised that this class may go over the allotted 3 hours.

This class was great - the instructor was extremely knowledgeable and paid close attention to each student so that everyone felt comfortable learning each tool and performing each task. Felt incredibly accomplished with my little stool at the end!

I learned so much in this class, not only some historical background on certain woodworking techniques, but also getting a healthy education on modern woodworking tools and techniques.
I learned a healthy respect for the modern woodworking powertools, but also confidence to be able to use them safely.
Plus, I went home with a very useable footstool!
One star less than perfect for the organization of the class (the day of got a notice that the class would start ~1hr45min later than start time, then class started closer to 2p, and then ended about 45mins later than the initial estimate of being a 3-hour class), but the knowledge learned in the class was great!

The class was great. I love my stool.
FYI, 3 hours was not enough time. We went longer.

Kevin was very knowledgeable and helpful. He had a lot of stories which kept things interesting but it ended up making it a pretty long class. I didn’t mind that much since it was super interesting, but definitely plan on eating lunch before this course! The little step stool I made will be useful too.

The intro to woodworking class was pretty cool. There were 6 students total, so we each had enough time to practice working the various machinery, and I like the stool that I brought home! The only downside was that the class ran over by an hour, which totally affected my plans for the rest of the day. I would have appreciated if the class time had been advertised as such, or if we worked on a project that would have taken less time, or if there was a disclaimer that warned us that there could be a delay (I had accounted for an extra half hour, but that wasn't enough!) I also wish we had enough time to finish the stool more rather than keep it in its raw pine form.

Enjoyed a lot. Getting basic skillls and knowledge about wood working. I got to use different types of tools used in wood working and love the final outcome of class.

Class listing needs to be updated to reflect that the class actually goes from 1PM to 5PM.
