Drawing with Charcoal 101 (In-Studio)

Charcoal is a traditional classical drawing medium that is essential to most formal art academy curricula and training programs. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of this important medium through uniquely designed projects created by Linda's comprehensive curriculum. Students explore the basics of sketching and illustration while developing the ability to create remarkable depth and tonal range in their work. Linda shares valuable professional tips and techniques that help students develop confidence and competence with charcoal. This course is particularly beneficial for those interested in pursuing drawing for fine art, commercial illustration, or book illustration applications.

Please Note: This is not a "copy-the-teacher" format in which all students create the same image.

The Wednesday 3:30 PM in-studio class is designed for school-age children and meets after school hours.

Prerequisites: Drawing with Graphite 101 or equivalent drawing experience and foundational skills.
