Class Description

Description

Travel from Bordeaux to Beaujolais and explore the fascinating regions beyond, learning about what makes the warm southern half of France home to some of the most distinctive, singular, and celebrated wines in the modern wine world.

Advance your knowledge of French wines through continued learning and exploration. In this classroom experience, we transition from the cool climate wines of the northern regions studied previously to examine the warm climate wines of the southern areas of France. Study and taste prestigious French wines that have been frequently imitated throughout the world but have never been successfully duplicated.

Throughout this course, you will gain an understanding of the warm climate conditions, grape varieties, and wine styles characteristic of southern France. We will examine and taste wines from the Bordeaux region, Beaujolais, the Rhone Valley, and highlights from the southern zones ranging from Sudouest to Provence.
