This session is designed for those with prior experience with clay who would like to work independently on their own projects and expand their skills within focused and communal studio time. Participants will work with artist and educator, Liz Navarro, to guide them through their projects, troubleshoot and learn techniques to support individual work. The session is well suited for those who have taken multiple workshops, have a fundamental knowledge of ceramics and would now like to work more independently in the studio to pursue their own ideas.
It is recommended that students have prior experience with ceramics and a basic understanding of working with the material including the different stages of clay; greenware, bisqueware and glazeware. This workshop is well suited for those who want focused studio time with support and would like to expand their skills and learn different approaches to working with clay.
Throughout the duration of the course, participants will be given clay to work with at home in order to practice, develop ideas and technique outside of class time. Basic tools and materials are included. All pieces will be fired and ready for pick up within 3 weeks of the final session. All pieces that are glazed will be food, microwave and dishwasher safe.
