Kara Scamardo, M.B.A., SHRM-CP

Prof. Scamardo has significant experience at all levels within human resources, in teaching, and in support of the profession.  While moving up the management ladder, she honed her human resources skills in the medical, music, service, and finance fields while working with both unionized and non-unionized employees.  With Executive Management Committee experience at a multi-state employer, she brings to the table a wide skill-set including the application of the principles of strategy, policy development, and service delivery.  She especially enjoys the role of Employee Relations in ensuring the success of a business.  She founded Vital HR Consulting in 2003, which provides human resources guidance as well as benefits brokerage services. Her instructor experience comes from both in-house training and from eight years of instruction experience at Los Angeles Valley College.  She is a past member of the Executive Board of Directors of Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) and a past District Chair of the Burbank and Glendale region. Prof. Scamardo holds the human resources certification of SHRM-CP and has an MBA.
