  • Love my new skirt! The class was very well organized with a paper guide. Emily the teacher was excellent- super thorough, knowledgeable and patient. Will definitely take another class with her as well as at the site. Love all the cute craft kits and supplies there. Can't wait for my next craft adventure.
  • Chelsea was amazing at take us step by step through our class! I learned so much and am confident I can take what I learned to actually sew and hem in the future!
  • I loved the course! I can’t recommend the instructor enough - Jules was not only knowledgeable and patient, but generous and made the learning process enjoyable. Worth it - I recommend for anyone starting out on their sewing journey!
  • June is an excellent teacher. Her instructions were always clear and she was very patient when students needed extra help. She motivated us and conducted the class with support when needed.
  • This class is very beginner friendly and adjustable to your skill level as you go! Elizabeth was my instructor and she did a great job of demonstrating and then having me repeat what she showed me. The objectives were very clear from the get go and I learned lots how many minute but important details I was skipping when sewing on my own. They provide all the supplies, so I highly recommend it for anyone interested in sewing but not ready to commit to their own sewing machine yet.
  • Such a great class for beginners
  • I had a really fun and patient instructor. I came out with a beautiful pant.
  • The class was organized and the instructor (Marissa ?) was very knowledgeable about sewing. The class always started on time, no time was wasted.
  • What a fun class and what a terrific teacher. I really thought Jen gave terrific ways to remember basics (how to make sure your bobbin is in right). Love this place and will be taking classes again and again as I already have.
  • The instructor was excellent. Her teaching method made it easy to learn to knit. Her descriptions of how to apply the needle and yarn were funny and useful and allowed you to fully understand exactly what to do. She gave personal attention to everyone who needed it. She was engaging and delightful.
  • I loved the class! It was informative and super cute to take. The instructor was patient, kind and was detailed in each step throughout the entire process from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend the class to anyone trying to start in crocheting
  • Class was great. We learned all the machine basics, including maintenance. The instructor was very knowledgable and helpful. I wish we got to thread the machine ourselves as that process didn't seem super intuitive, but we did get to practice using the machine and got to make our own push pins, which was awesome.
  • Fabulous class and fabulous teacher! Apparently classes on week days are smaller, so highly recommend! I love the pants I made and I feel like I can make clothes from a pattern now!
  • Amazing course, Carley was so helpful!
  • Very useful course and great instructors.
  • The class was so much fun. We totally benefited that it was only four people in the class with two instructors. They were both really knowledgeable and also met us where we were at. I have a decent amount of sewing experience while someone else in the class had none and had to learn how to thread the machine. The two other people had taken previous sewing classes and needed reminders and educational how to do new things and the instructors were great with all of us. I brought a really ambitious project and they both worked with me to get me in a direction that I would be happy with. The class totally reignited my love of sewing, and they even talk to me about what sewing machine I should buy. (I did buy one that night) I learned a lot of fun, tricks and tips and also unlocked a memory on how to fill a bobbin. I totally recommend this class for people who want to learn how to sew and how to alter their own clothes.
  • I gave up on sewing over 40 years ago. I always had trouble following the pattern and made so many mistakes. The instructor was excellent, and gave us step-by-step instructions. We did not have to rely on the pattern instructions which are often confusing. Students were at different levels but the instructor was patient and gave extra time to those that needed more help. I was able to complete my project and love my PJ bottoms. A very fun day.
  • Wonderful class! I was a complete beginner and am so happy with all of the skills I learned (and being able to take home an actual piece of clothing I made!). And a big shout out to Viola, who was a fantastic instructor!
  • Loved the independence that was fostered in the setting.
  • I booked last minute. Me and three other students. We learned basics of machine threading, measuring our selves, using a calculation to determine how to draw out and cut material. We sewed our individual elastic waist skirt and learned something. I missed the fine print to my own fabric, so I paid $45 for linen fabric at the shop. Plus $95 for the class. I now have a $140 hand made skirt.
  • The class was great! The teacher was awesome and went step by step slowly. Now I want to make more skirts. I would definitely take another class with them.
  • Definitely rewarding and fun for me—I came in with no sewing background. The class structure has realistic goals, our instructor and guest instructor were both so patient, helpful, and kind. I came out with a clearer understanding of constructing from patterns and ended up with pants I actually enjoy wearing! I really recommend this class if you're interested in learning to sew.
  • Sewing 101: Basics (Private)

I came in with 2 pair of pants that I wanted to learn how to repair and did just that even though I never used a sewing machine before. My instructor, Wioletta, was amazing. Patience, encouraging, and light hearted. The hour went by so quickly. I didn't have any real interest in learning how to sew before this, but now I purchased my first sewing machine and I'm considering taking the 101 bootcamp!
  • Awesome class!
  • Lori was terrific. She was patient and a great teacher. I learned a lot and had so much fun. I highly recommend Lori at the Crafty Lounge!
  • Enjoyed the class, very informative, but fast paced. The teacher worked with us well. Showed you the key things so you can work with ur own machine
  • I was a bit more advanced than other students—and they accommodated me. I left with exactly the skills I wanted!! Really a great experience.
  • I had never even picked up a ball of yarn before -- and I have a history of being klutzy and nervous when it comes to this sort of skill. The instructor (Ginny or Jenny; I forgot to get the spelling!) was amazing -- so patient, clear, and good-natured! She anticipated what problems we might be having and tried to help us avoid them; she was very funny and reassuring. I left with about half my cowl done, which, believe me, was more than I expected! I hope to finish it at a later session, when I can count on her wise guidance. And Brooklyn Craft Company is always a fun place to shop and just hang out. I love their offerings -- they always have something fun and new to try. This was a truly enjoyable experience!
  • This class was so much fun! I learned the fundamentals and also left with a tangible pair of pants which is awesome.
  • Personalized attention. I was able to learn a new method of casting on and improve my novice skill set. Thanks!
  • Very clean, nicely run place with a cute dog!!! Made a good looking, warm scarf and learned a lot. Recommend !
  • The instructor was patient and kind. I was able to complete the neck cowl within 3 hrs. Great class for beginners.
  • Really great, practical class! I feel prepared to take on more projects with these basics under my belt.
  • The class was great. The teacher was lovely and informative. I gained a new respect and understanding for the art of millinery and for the amount of thought and creativity that goes into it. Definitely 10 out of 10
  • The class was wonderful! Nice atmosphere and Lori was such a great instructor, will definitely take more classes in the future.
  • This was a great class. Lovely location. Laurie was super welcoming, helpful and patient. Would definitely go back.
  • The instructors were patient, knowledgeable and helpful. It was fun, look forward to going back!
  • Loved the sewing class. Diana is an amazing and caring instructor!!!
  • Loved it. Instructor and class was great. Really fun experience and eager to keep learning.
  • Class was small (there was about 7 of us). First couple of hours was learning to sew for tote bag , then break for 1 hour and the remaining hours was learning to sew the bottoms that you have chosen. I was not able to finish my project at the end but they gave an option to return another day to finish it up. Definitely learned a lot. Instructor was clear and patient with us.
  • I thought the instructor was always well prepared. She spent time answering everyone's questions and worked with everyone. The class made you want to sew.
  • My mom and I had so much fun in the class! We ended up making a pouch and now we use it for our travels. Ingvild is a very patient teacher and we’re so happy we took her class.
  • My wife and her friend had a great time, they really enjoyed the class. I believe Emily was the teacher and they liked her teaching method!
  • Knowledgeable , patient and kind staff.
  • The instructor was incredibly patient and explained everything in a way that made learning easy and fun. The class covered all the basics, from casting on to creating different stitches, and I was able to make a small project by the end. The atmosphere was welcoming, and I loved meeting others who shared the same interest. It was a relaxing and creative experience, and I can't wait to take more classes. Highly recommend for anyone looking to pick up knitting.
  • I came to the Alterations private class with the intention of really understanding how to alter clothes so they actually fit me. For many years I've worn oversized tops, boxy shirts, and so forth. This was an ambitious venture for me: how to keep my beloved garments but update them to my actual (slim) measurements. I found Ingvild a very reassuring person. In fact, she had such a reassuring presence that I was able to discuss frankly the aspects of my figure I wanted to de-emphasize. I came home excited about the various ways I can remake the garments I already own. I am pleased that I signed up for time with her.
  • Alterations Workshop (2-Hour Private)

It was such a helpful class. Highly recommend if you're trying to learn how to alter your own clothes.
  • Very useful class! Ingvild was lovely and I liked the way she set up the class, having me bring in a couple items and work on them together while explaining everything and giving me instructions for continuing.
  • It was excellent the teacher was great
  • I was an electronics engineer and in my retirement I learned 3D-printing, laser cutting, advanced woodworking and more at a makerspace. But the makerspace didn't have sewing and I didn't know how to shorten pants or even use a sewing machine to stitch a top loop on the stretchy green-screen fabric I use for my ZOOM session backgrounds. I also want to change a flannel shirt or two that I have with tuck-in tails to flat-bottomed so I don't have to tuck them inside my pants. I have no desire to make clothes from scratch. I now feel confident I can sew what I wanted to sew with what I learned in this course and some online research. The course had a relaxed friendly atmosphere and instructor Diana Rogers roamed the room giving each student considerable individual attention. After the first class, my wife and I finally ditched our 20-plus-year-old sewing machine that was giving her trouble, and purchased a new Singer sewing machine for less than $200 that is similar to the Singers we used in class. I highly recommend this course.
