Taking screenshots and notes is helpful so it's easier to remember everything, since it's a lot to take in as After Effects has a complex UI. You really need a class for this program, because it isn't intuitive for the most part. -

Very good for learning with no experience or for filling in the gaps from self teaching AfterEffects. Wish there were a little more complex concepts taught other than just moving shapes around on 2D space but you can only teach so much in a day. Got a little too quick towards the end when exporting projects and learning different compressions so it felt arbitrary to even explain. But overall good class and great teacher, perfect pace for learning from scratch and if you need to learn specifically how to make gifs and logos -
Teens: Introduction to Stop Motion Animation
The teacher was really helpful, he showed me apps I could use to do stop motion animation and he helped me develop ideas into a video. I totally recommend this course for beginners. -
Adobe After Effects I
Very much enjoyed this class and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to learn something new within Adobe programs. Stuart is a great teacher and would gladly take another class he teaches. I recommend that you come into this class each week with the full intent to take away something from it. Some weeks are more rewarding than others depending on what you want to take away. If you’re a student that doesn’t pay attention, doesn’t do the homework (or at least attempt it) and comes in late, Stuart won’t baby you. You’ll be behind, have wasted your own time and money, and might as well watch a youtube tutorial. I find that the program’s fundamentals are challenging despite going into the class knowing ai, psd, and indd. But, Stuart breaks it down with understandable real-life scenarios. I will say he goes a little fast due to the nature of the material, but he stops to check in each student. Regardless, his pace keeps you on your toes and he is effective in the content he shares. Regarding homework, it seems from the class structure it’s a mix of students and working professionals looking for extra education. There isn’t much pressure to do the homework in a way he wants it, just to do the homework and make it what you want as long as it sticks to the syllabus. Stuart makes the 3-hour course fly by because the class is filled to the max great material. I really feel like I’ve learned a lot and plan on taking more classes at Pratt. -

Kalika was a fantastic instructor bringing patience and humor to every lesson. Thanks to her, I have a strong grasp on the topics covered, am confident in my skills and capability to delve further into the app. Kalika is the rare teacher who goes the extra mile for her students because she's happy to. One suggestion note is that there are a few lessons that start off with importing or setting up in more than one way for the sake of learning how different modes function. I think the class would benefit from taking time in between the demonstrations to practice that part before continuing into the bulk of the lesson - I found that I forgot what the take-away was from that initial portion of the lesson by the time the demonstration was over, and conducting that portion on my own created an interruption between the demonstration and going through the section on my own. -

This particular class was everything you could ever ask for. I edited an entire 15 min video the following day. -

I thought Mark was extremely knowledgeable about the topic he was teaching. While we went through many different aspects of Adobe Premiere, I didn't feel overwhelmed by the information and took away a lot of useful tips that I will utilize in my professional career. I would recommend this course to anybody who wants to sharpen their video editing skills. -
