Description

Discover the foundations of Flamenco with Aurora Reyes, a respected performer and teacher known throughout the Flamenco communities of Spain and New York. This class introduces you to the expressive movements, musicality, and cultural roots that shape this traditional Spanish art form.

Materials Needed:

Comfortable clothing that allows free movement
No dance partner is necessary

About the Class:

Students learn the core patterns and gestures used in several Flamenco styles, including sevillanas, tangos, and bulerías. Sevillanas emphasizes posture, coordinated steps, and partner-friendly movements, although the class can be done solo. Tangos and bulerías highlight rhythm, musical awareness, and the playful interaction often found in social Flamenco settings. These forms use cycles of 6 beats, 8 beats, and 12 beats. The focus is on feeling the pulse of the music rather than executing complex footwork.

New students are welcome to join the course at any time.

Refund Policy
