Students will learn basic metal forming and joining as they shape and solder three band rings. After a lunch break they will experiment with three unique finishing techniques to create a hammer finish, brushed finish, and reticulated surface finish. All materials provided. Students should wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Please avoid shirts with loose sleeves.

Make Your Own Ring Set

This is a fantastic introductory class to jewelry making. Students will begin by shaping silver into rings. They will learn to use jewelers files and to solder silver. After forming and welding the ring, they will use abrasives to polish rings to desired finish. When that is done, they do it all over again until they complete a set of rings to take home. Materials are provided.
