Italian Language: Intermediate Review

Proficiency in Italian will be enhanced through refined idiomatic expressions and more advanced grammar patterns

Students with no prior knowledge of the Italian language will communicate in simple, everyday situations. Course includes practice in reading, writing and basic work in grammar.

Students will deal with more complex Italian grammar and syntax to enable them to express themselves in various verbal modes: present, past and future.

In his course students will complete the overview of the basic Italian grammar focusing as well on speaking, reading and writing skills.

Designed for those with basic knowledge of the language, this course provides practice in conversation and introduction of new vocabulary and more complex grammatical structures. ​

The course is designed for students who have completed the advanced courses and want to keep practicing their reading comprehension, expand their vocabulary, brush up their grammar and acquire better fluency. 

Enriched vocabulary and advanced grammatical structures will enable students to handle a number of interactive, task-oriented social situations.

This course will cover the last chapters of the book “Nuovo progetto Italiano B1-B2”. The emphasis will be placed on stylistic and idiomatic expressions to reinforce the speaking and reading ability of the student.

Through the grammar and the reading of the book by S.Ciani and S. Gavelli "Scoprire l'Italia", students will review the major challenges in Italian grammar, including the verb system, areas of contrast with English, and some vocabulary issues. They will  discover Italy through a treasure hunt with stops in Florence, Naples, Venice, Siena, Milan,...

This course is designed for advanced students who wish to acquire greater fluency. Task oriented auditory practices, readings and excerpts from the book “Ciak…si parla italiano” by Garofalo P. that will be used as a base for conversation. This course will take you on a journey through the lesser known sides of Italian culture in the 21st century. It’s geared to improve conversation and fluency.
